9th International Civil Forum "Pilorama"
International Civil Forum "Pilorama" has been held on the territory of the Memorial Centre of the History of Political Repressions "Perm 36" since 2005.
Major targets of the Forum are discussons on acute problems of the modern times, Russian and world history, civic education, also by means of contemporary art, attraction of the widest audiences. Apart from discussion sites, the program of the International Civil Forum "Pilorama" includes festivals, concerts of art songs, (theatre) performances, poetic nights, cinema shows, and further actions. Annually, famous politicians, human right activists, journalists, artists, actors, musicians as well as representatives of the general public from different Russian regions and abroad take part in the Forum.
In different years, Forum’s guests were human rights activists Sergei Kovalev, Lyudmila Alexeeva, Balys Gajauskas (Lithuania), Valentin Gefter, Vasil Ovsienko (Ukraine), Arseni Roginsky, Alexei Simonov, Human Rights Ombudsman in the Russian Federation Vladimir Lukin, Governor of the Kirov Region Nikita Belykh, art dealer Marat Gelman, founder of the Moscow School of Political Research Elena Nemirovskaya, journalist Olga Romanova, economist Irina Yasina, Chief Editor of the paper "Gazeta Wyborcza" Adam Michnik (Poland), Head of the Representation Office of the Heinrich Böll Foundation in Moscow Jens Siegert (Germany), performers of art songs Natella Boltyanskaya and Timur Shaov, actor Alexei Devotchenko, musicians Andrei Makarevich, Oleg Nesterov, Yuri Shevchuk, Pascal von Wroblewsky (Germany), reviewer Artemi Troitsky, writer Lyudmila Ulitskaya, director Michael Hunt (Great Britain), and others.
Organizers of the Forum are Autonomous Nonprofit Organization "Memorial Centre of the History of Political Repressions "Perm 36", International Historical and Educational, Human Rights and Charity Association "Memorial" supported by the Government of the Perm Region, Human Rights Ombudsmen in the Russian Federation and the Perm Region as well as International Coalition of Museums of Conscience.
